My first memory of Michael is from before he was actually born. Standing in the kitchen with my Mom when she told me she had a secret she wanted me to go tell my Dad. A secret? Sign me up! And when it was a big one, I was ecstatic!
Amid over cast skies and a light drizzle, Adam and I drove up north to the beautiful setting that is Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington. We talked about our plan in the event that everything had to be indoors...
Well it's been awhile since I've blogged a wedding so please forgive me if I gush a little bit. It took me quite a bit to narrow down some favorites, and I even narrowed down those!
When I was first asked if I'd be willing to travel to Las Vegas to shoot a small wedding, it was a resounding yes. Firstly, I love shooting destination weddings. Secondly, I knew the bride had a heart of gold. Case in point, throughout the wedding day her concern was that everyone (including me) was having a great time. Even as she was having her hair and makeup done she would reach out to those nearby to make sure they were comfortable and enjoying themselves. Well I'll tell ya, everyone was having a blast! All the little comments I overheard from her friends and family were all so supportive and full of love.
So here's the thing, this being a destination wedding, I didn't really have the opportunity to connect with both the bride and groom. I hadn't seen them interact. And it's always interesting to see how two people act in front of the camera. Well they killed it. The love they have for each other is so evident I couldn't help but grin the whole time. Jessica looks at her husband like he's the only man in the universe and Kyle looks at her like he can't believe it. Not only that, but to look around at friends and family and see them looking at the couple with tears in their eyes and smiles on their faces was enough to get anyone choked up a bit.
Okay, enough of that! The day started at New York New York, where both the bride and groom got ready. Then it was off to tie the knot. Afterwards they had a relaxed reception at Battista's Hole in the Wall with the people that care the most about them. From there it was back to the hotel for family pictures and just enough day light for some portraits of the two of them. We ended up at The Cosmopolitan for a couple quick shots and then it was time for the two of them to enjoy being husband and wife with their friends and family.
So in conclusion, congratulations Jess and Kyle! I'm so honored to have been able to capture your wedding celebration! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness and googly eyed mushy romance <3
Shaila + Andy's wedding day started at Charles Penzone in Dublin, OH. Shaila and her ladies got beautified then headed to The Lakes Country Club in Westerville. The weather was perfect and the setting was gorgeous for this couples special day. There were so many special moments that it's hard to name our favorites! Andy repeatedly looking at Shaila with the sweetest look on his face and hands on his heart and saying, "I love you so much" - or Shaila "just needing a minute" before their first-look. Not to mention when Ava (daughter and flower girl) ran to them for her first look. Could not handle the sweetness of that moment! There were so many other things that made this day unforgettable, but I'm limiting myself. Needless to say, everything was perfect. We wish you two the absolute best in the years to come and can't wait to see your relationship grow!
